3 March 2026 – Farewell to Nakuru, Back to Nairobi
After breakfast and checking out, we began our return drive to Nairobi with Don. On the outskirts of Nakuru we visited the Shree Jalaram Aradhna Dham Temple which was built in the late 80s before bidding farewell to Nakuru. We made another brief stop in Naivasha along the way.
Before reaching the Grand Argyle Hotel in Nairobi, we also managed to buy the famous Bhartiben’s chevdo. That small purchase somehow felt like the perfect travel detail — something to carry back not just as food, but as memory.
When we reached the hotel, we took photographs and said goodbye to Don, who by then truly felt like part of the family. He had not just driven us; he had accompanied us through some of the most emotional days of our lives.
After dinner we went to bed early, because we were due to leave at 3:30 am for our early morning flight.
