Day 02 17 Mar 2017
After a quick breakfast, we were back on the road. We shared the driving, though Pratik took the lion’s share behind the wheel. He quickly adapted to India’s chaotic yet charming traffic, navigating bustling towns and winding mountain roads like a natural. Despite its size, Kontiki handled the terrain beautifully.
The scenic mountain roads through the ghats were a delight to the eyes, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Taking our time and enjoying the leisurely drive, we reached Goa early in the afternoon. Just before Candolim we saw an antique body shell of a Volkswagen Combi mini bus. Surely this must be worth a lot of money.
Our base in Goa was a pre-booked hotel in Candolim, perfectly located for our daily beach outings. After checking in, we walked to the nearby beach, relaxed on sunbeds, and enjoyed chilled beers with snacks as we watched the waves roll in.
