Raj Karadia is a lifelong traveller and motorhome enthusiast whose passion for exploration has taken him across continents.
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, and later settling in Leicester, England, Raj has spent much of his life combining a love of travel with a curiosity for different cultures, people, and landscapes.
In 2016, at the age of 65, Raj fulfilled a dream that many considered impossible. Together with his friends, he drove a 22-year-old Swift Kontiki motorhome over 22,000 kilometres from London to Mumbai, crossing 12 countries in 90 unforgettable days. The journey took Team Kontiki through Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Myanmar, and India, overcoming mechanical breakdowns, challenging roads, language barriers, and countless border crossings. Their adventure proved that determination, friendship, and careful planning can turn even the boldest dreams into reality.
Raj believes that travel is about far more than reaching a destination. It is about meeting extraordinary people, embracing different cultures, overcoming unexpected challenges, and collecting memories that last a lifetime.
Through WanderLove Chronicles, Raj hopes to inspire readers of all ages—especially those who believe they are “too old” to chase new adventures. His message is simple:
Age is not a barrier. If there is a will, there is a way.
“Travel has taught me that the world is far smaller, far kinder, and far more beautiful than we often imagine. Every journey begins with a single decision—to go.”
