Australia – One Month of Coastlines, Cities & Color
If New Zealand slowed us down, Australia picked up the pace. Sun-soaked, social, and effortlessly cool, one month along the East Coast delivered iconic cities, dramatic coastlines, and underwater wonder.
Melbourne – Culture, Coffee & Coastal Roads
We began in Melbourne, a city rich with creativity and confidence. Exploring Queen Victoria Market grounded us in daily life before we hit the road.
The Great Ocean Road unfolded like a cinematic highlight reel. Standing before the Twelve Apostles and walking Loch Ard Gorge, we felt dwarfed by nature’s scale.
Back in the city, St Kilda Beach offered seaside calm, while Chapel Street brought nightlife and music.
Sydney – Icons & Natural Escapes
Sydney delivered on every dream. Seeing the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in person carried a quiet sense of arrival.
From Bondi Beach to the cooler mist of the Blue Mountains, the city balanced energy and escape. Standing before the Three Sisters, layered in legend, felt grounding and timeless.
Northbound – Beaches, Bohemia & Reef Life
Heading north softened the pace. The Gold Coast buzzed with sunshine, Coolangatta offered calm, and Byron Bay invited lingering sunsets.
Cairns opened a new world beneath the surface. Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef revealed vibrant coral gardens and a humbling reminder of nature’s fragility.
The Atherton Tablelands surprised us with lush greenery, hidden waterfalls, and refreshing swims that balanced the tropical heat.
A Backpacker’s Australia
Australia leaned into efficiency—flights, road trips, and hostels that brought shared stories and new friendships. Vibrant and social, it left its mark even in a short time.
