From Desert Civilisations to Sacred Seas
Our Gujarat Road Trip: Navsari → Kutch → Dholavira → Somnath → Diu
Some journeys stay with you long after the road ends. Our road trip across Gujarat — undertaken a few years ago with my wife Hansa and our dear friends Shobhanaben and Monica — was one such journey.
We drove our own car from Navsari, chasing history, horizons, faith, and the sea — moving from ancient ruins to white salt deserts, royal palaces, sacred temples, and finally, calm coastal shores.
The Journey Begins — Navsari to Kutch
Our journey began in Navsari, in southern Gujarat. From here, reaching Kutch is not about speed — it’s about patience and curiosity.
- Navsari → Bhuj: ~480–520 km
- Driving time: ~10–12 hours with breaks
The landscape slowly transformed — green fields faded into dry earth, towns grew quieter, and the sky seemed to stretch wider. By the time we reached Bhuj, we knew we were in a land shaped by resilience and history.
