Day 05 – 17 October 2024

Relaxing by the Beaches of Bentota

After several days of travel and sightseeing, Bentota offered us the perfect opportunity to slow down.

Our stay at Cinnamon Bey became a welcome pause in the journey — a chance to relax, recharge, and simply enjoy the beauty of Sri Lanka’s southwest coast.

The resort’s large swimming pool overlooked the beach, creating a peaceful setting for lazy afternoons beneath the tropical sun.

The beach itself was wide, golden, and ideal for long walks during sunset. Gentle waves rolled onto the shore while fishing boats drifted quietly in the distance.

The rhythm of life here felt slower and calmer.

One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the food.

The breakfast buffet featured an impressive spread of Sri Lankan and international dishes — tropical fruits, pastries, fresh juices, spicy curries, hoppers, eggs cooked to order, and endless cups of fragrant Ceylon tea.

Evenings were equally memorable, with seafood dinners enjoyed against the backdrop of crashing waves and ocean breezes.

Bentota brought a slower rhythm to our Sri Lankan journey — mornings by the pool, sunsets on the beach, and the comforting aroma of Sri Lankan spices drifting through the resort each evening.

Sometimes the most meaningful travel memories are not about sightseeing, but about simply sitting together, sharing stories, laughing freely, and enjoying the moment.
