Day 2 Morning: The Curious World of Alang
The next morning, we explored Alang—the world’s largest ship-breaking yard. But beyond the ships lies a fascinating marketplace. Warehouses lined the roads, selling everything imaginable—furniture, machinery, tools, crockery.
It’s a treasure hunt for bargain lovers. We could’ve easily spent the entire day here, but after a couple of hours (and some crockery shopping!), we moved on.

Diu: Serenity by the Sea
A scenic coastal drive brought us to Diu, a former Portuguese colony with a relaxed vibe. Our first stop was the unique five Shivling temple by the sea—waves gently washing over the Shivlings. A deeply spiritual and rare sight.
Vinay’s first pilgrimage made this moment even more special.
We later visited Nagao Beach—clean, calm, and beautiful. Walking on silver sands, enjoying masala corn, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect coastal break.

Somnath: Where Faith Stands Eternal
From Diu, we drove to the sacred Somnath Temple—one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
Standing beside the Arabian Sea, the temple radiates both spiritual power and historical resilience. Destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, Somnath is not just a temple—it’s a symbol of unwavering faith.
The evening atmosphere, with the sound of waves and temple bells, was truly divine.
