Day 2 – The Magic of Euro Disney
The next morning, we drove to the park early.
Nothing could have prepared us for our first glimpse of Euro Disney. The colourful buildings, cheerful music, spotless streets, and smiling Disney characters created an atmosphere unlike anything we had ever experienced.
At the time, a one-day Euro Disney ticket in 1992 cost approximately 250 to 300 French Francs for adults, which worked out to roughly £25–£30 per person — quite expensive back then, but absolutely worth every penny for the memories we created.
The park had only recently opened, and there was enormous excitement across Europe. Families from many different countries wandered around in amazement, all eager to experience Disney magic for the first time on European soil.
The children were thrilled by every ride and parade, while Mother enjoyed simply watching the happiness around her, though by afternoon the walking had understandably tired her out.
By evening, we returned happily exhausted to the campsite.
Hansa cooked a delicious prawn curry inside Cassandra while we reheated leftover rotis and boiled fresh rice. Mother enjoyed a small glass of chilled wine with us as we quietly reflected on what had been an unforgettable day.
Simple moments like these often become the most treasured memories.
