Day 3 – Paris, the Eiffel Tower and Camping Life
The next morning began slowly and peacefully.
After warm showers in the campsite washrooms, Hansa prepared egg on toast with spicy masala tea — a breakfast that somehow tasted even better while camping.
The children spent the morning running around the open fields teasing their grandmother and laughing endlessly.
Once packed up, we drove towards Paris, only about an hour away.
One of the great advantages of Cassandra was her compact size. Unlike larger motorhomes, parking in cities was surprisingly easy.
The children were especially excited about seeing the Eiffel Tower and taking a boat ride along the River Seine.
Paris was glorious in the sunshine.
Street musicians performed near the riverbanks, tourists wandered through bustling streets, and the city felt alive with energy. We enjoyed hot dogs after the boat ride before walking around the famous landmarks.
Later, we drove to Sacré-Cœur, where the views across Paris were breathtaking.
That evening, we checked into the campsite at Bois de Boulogne on the outskirts of Paris. I absolutely loved the atmosphere there.
We bought fresh chicken from the campsite shop, and while Hansa cooked another wonderfully spicy curry, Nitin and I prepared a disposable barbecue outside.
With wine in hand and the warm Paris evening around us, life felt beautifully simple.
